Rachel Gartner joined the University of North Carolina Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning staff in 2024.
A former intern and part-time assistant coach, Gartner now serves as an assistant director of sports performance. She is responsible for the fencing, swimming and diving and men’s tennis teams at UNC.
Before coming to Chapel Hill, Gartner worked in the private sector at CrossFit MFP in Ardmore, Pa., from 2020 to 2023. Prior to that, Gartner served as a student strength and conditioning intern at Saint Joseph’s University.
A 2018 graduate of Boston College, Gartner earned a BA in mathematics while competing as a member of the women’s basketball team. She completed her collegiate playing career at Saint Joseph’s University, where she earned an MS in organizational leadership in 2020.
Gartner is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
A native of Danbury, Connecticut, Gartner is passionate about helping athletes reach their full potential.
