Rose Thorp joined the UNC Department of Athletics in May of 2022 and serves as associate athletic director for human resources.
In this role, Thorp is responsible for overseeing the human resources team and serving the human resources needs of the Carolina Athletics coaches and staff. She works with the university, department units and other partners to provide a full range of human resources services to the department.
Thorp is a veteran human resources professional with nine years of state service at the university including prior experience in the Eshelman School of Pharmacy and the School of Medicine.
She is a Carolina graduate with a dual bachelor’s degree in English literature and history and holds her juris doctor degree from the University of Maine School of Law.
Thorp grew up in upstate New York and Apex, N.C. She and her husband have two sons and reside in Apex.
