Born and raised in Forest City, North Carolina, Rese Carson serves as an assistant academic specialist for the UNC Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes.
A graduate of Appalachian State University, Carson received his bachelor's degree in recreation management with a minor in sports science and coaching in 2023. Carson also received his Master's from Appalachian State in student affairs in 2025.
During his time at Appalachian State, Carson was a graduate assistant for the recreation centers on campus, while also serving as a graduate assistant for Academic Services for Student-Athletes. Carson loves to spend his free time exercising, reading books, playing video games and watching the Philadelphia Eagles.
