North Carolina will open the 2018 college baseball season ranked No. 7 nationally by Collegiate Baseball, the website announced in its preseason poll Tuesday. Carolina is one of eight teams in the ACC ranked in the top 40 and are joined by No. 4 Florida State, No. 15 Clemson, No. 16 Virginia, No. 20 Miami, No. 21 Louisville, No. 23 NC State and No. 29 Georgia Tech.

UNC will face FSU, Virginia, Miami, Louisville, NC State and Georgia Tech in league play.

The Tar Heels open up the 2018 season on Feb. 16 with a three-game series against South Florida in Tampa. Carolina's first home game of the season will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 20, against UNCW at 3 p.m. ET.
