Summer Ball Dispatches: Michael Busch

Throughout the summer, GoHeels.com will bring you updates from Carolina baseball players in various summer leagues across the country. Check back and follow on Twitter (@DiamondHeels) for the latest.
Michael Busch here, writing from up in the Northwoods League. I am currently playing for the St. Cloud Rox. My experience so far has been tremendous, the players and coaches are to be blamed for that.Â
After a great start to the season, we had won the first half title for the first time since our head coach has been here, which was awesome. We were tied with the Waterloo Bucks with only four games to go in the first half. We spent those four games up in Duluth, Minnesota, over July Fourth weekend and made the most of them. We swept all four games and became first half champions.Â
Although we are traveling a lot and playing games almost every day, I do have time to go fishing, workout, hang with friends and much more. My favorite moment of this summer thus far would have to be the games against the Mankato Moondogs the past few days. Growing up, my brother and I always played baseball in the backyard and were fortunate enough to be able to play on the same team for a few years. This year we played against each other. It was the coolest thing to play against him and be on the same diamond as him again. He won both times, but we will pay each other in early August and it will be a different story.
The Northwoods League is treating me well, but I am excited to get down to Chapel Hill and start the new season.Â
Go Heels!Â
