Field Hockey Set For First Home Weekend

UNC hosts Boston College Saturday in Durham
After six consecutive road games to open the season, the UNC field hockey team finally plays on what is for this season its home turf. The Tar Heels host Boston College Saturday at noon, James Madison Sunday at 3 p.m. and Davidson Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Duke's Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium in Durham, N.C. The stadium is locaed on Duke's East Campus and there is no charge for admission.
Carolina is practicing and playing home games at Duke during the 2017 season while a new on-campus facility is under construction.
The seventh-ranked Tar Heels head into the weekend 4-2 overall and 0-1 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.

Prior to that, BC had opened the season with four consecutive wins, including three over ranked teams (No. 18 Albany, No. 14 Northwestern and No. 6 Maryland). The Eagles then beat Providence 4-0 at home on Sunday. Freshmen Jaime Natale and Elizabeth Warner are the goals leaders with three each.
• Last meeting: Boston College beat UNC 2-1 in Newton, Mass., on Sept. 16, 2016.
Vs. James Madison, Sept. 17: After opening the year with five wins in a row, the Dukes are 5-1 coming off a 3-1 loss to Duke last Sunday. The team is ranked No. 13 this week, which is the highest since a preseason ranking of No. 12 in 2010. Junior Miranda Rigg leads JMU with six goals.
