GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Aislinn Konig scored 19 points with five 3-pointers, Greensboro native Akela Maize had 12 points, nine rebounds and four blocks and No. 23 NC State beat North Carolina 77-64 on Thursday to advance to the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament quarterfinals.
Kiara Leslie and Chelsea Nelson each added 13 points for NC State (23-7). Leslie picked up her fourth foul midway through the third quarter but still played 31 minutes.
The fifth-seeded Wolfpack will play 18th-ranked and No. 4 seed Duke on Friday.
Paris Kea led 12th-seeded North Carolina (15-16) with four 3-pointers and 27 points. She scored 21 points on 4-of-5 shooting from distance in the first half but her team trailed 43-37. Her 19.4 points per game scoring average is the highest total at Carolina in 20 seasons.
Jamie Cherry had 15 points on 3-of-15 shooting and a career-high nine rebounds in her 129th and final game with the Tar Heels. The Cove City, North Carolina, native scored an even 1,600 points in her collegiate career.

- All-ACC Defensive Team member Akela Maize made her presence felt Thursday by blocking four UNC shots. The 6-5 Wolfpack senior has now recorded multiple blocked shots in 14 games this season and ranks among NC State's all-time single-season leaders with 60 in 30 games.
- NC State is now 18-2 this season when holding its opponents to under 40 percent shooting from the floor. The Tar Heels shot 30.6 percent on Thursday.
- North Carolina junior Paris Kea, who went 4-for-5 from 3-point range in Wednesday's opening-round win over Boston College, connected on three straight in the first 3:38 of Thursday's game to stake UNC to an early 11-3 lead before the Wolfpack rallied.
- Kea finished with 27 points on Thursday (21 in the opening half) and averaged 27.5 points for her two 2017-18 ACC Tournament games. She has averaged 23.3 points in her four ACC tourney games over the past two seasons.
