HEELS TAKE ONE IN LOUISVILLE
North Carolina dropped the first two games of their series in Kentucky last weekend, but a breakout from the lineup helped the Tar Heels to a 10-3 win to notch the first ACC win of the season. The offense collected 11 hits and had three-RBI performances from both Ike Freeman and Zack Gahagan. The dropped series was North Carolina's first conference loss since May 19-21, 2016 against N.C. State.
NORTH CAROLINA A&T SERIES HISTORY
• This will be just the fifth time that the Tar Heels have played North Carolina A&T.
• North Carolina leads, 3-1, in a series that dates back to 1993.
• The last time the two met was back in 2014 when the Tar Heels captured a 10-0 win. Starter A.J. Bogucki tossed seven innings of one-hit ball, striking out ten.
GARDNER-WEBB SERIES HISTORY
• North Carolina has battled Gardner-Webb 15 times since 2002, owning a 14-1 edge in the series.
• The Tar Heels rolled in the two's meeting last year, winning 11-1 on February 22nd. Seven different players had hits, including multi-RBI performances from Kyle Datres and Zack Gahagan.
