No. 27 Carolina hosts No. 8 Florida State In ACC Series

No. 27 North Carolina hosts No. 8 Florida State this weekend at Boshamer Stadium in a big ACCÂ matchup. Â All games will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra and tickets are available at the door. Friday will be a double header starting at 3 p.m. and the second game will follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first. There will be no game on Saturday and the finale will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m.
FSU SERIES HISTORY
• The Tar Heels and Seminoles have met 102 times over the course of the series, with FSU holding a 68-34 series lead.
• The teams first met in 1956 in Tallahassee, a 3-2 Florida State win.
• The Heels swept last year's series in Tallahassee, including a 5-2 win in 11 innings in game two. Josh Hiatt and Tyler Baum both picked up wins during the series. Ashton McGee led the way offensively with four RBI over the weekend.
BATS STAY HOT AGAINST MARYLAND
After a big weekend that saw the Heels outscore Pitt 32-5, the offensive fireworks continued on Tuesday with a 13-1 win over Maryland. The Carolina offense recorded a season-high 18 hits against the Terrapins. Five players had multiple hits with Cody Roberts, Kyle Datres and Ike Freeman all tallying three each. Ten different Tar Heel players recorded a hit in the contest, giving insurance to starter Rodney Hutchison who tossed seven innings of one-run ball in his win.

•The Tar Heel bullpen has not allowed an earned run in 25.1 innings.

• Austin Bergner set a career high with 12 stikeouts against Pittsburgh, the most by a UNC pitcher this season.
• Michael Busch hit his first career grand slam in the win over Maryland. This was the first Carolina grand slam since Zack Gahagan's on April 7, 2017 against Boston College.Â
• Kyle Datres ranks 10th in the ACC in batting average with his .357 mark. Behind him is Ike Freeman, whose .355 average puts him 11th in the conference.
