A 2007 graduate with a degree in exercise and sport science, Beans earned second-team All-America and All-ACC Tournament honors as a Tar Heel senior. She was a team that year, when the Tar Heels finished undefeated after winning national and conference championships.
A former assistant coach at the University of Delaware and Lafayette College, Beans most recently served as an assistant coach at Emmaus (Pa.) High School, her alma mater. She has coached at the Carolina field hockey summer camps since she was an undergraduate and currently holds a Level 2 Coaching Certificate with the U.S. Field Hockey Association. In addition to other coaching experience, she has served as head coach for Under-19 and Under-14 teams at the Keystone Games in Pennsylvania as well as for two club teams, Texas Pride (Houston) and Firestyx (Emmaus, Pa.)
Beans earned a teaching certificate in English from Moravian College in 2010.
