2004— Nicholas Monroe: Men's Tennis (Olathe, Kan.)
Named first-team All-America by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and won the ITA’s John Von Nostrand Memorial Award in 2004. He earned NCAA Tournament individual bids in singles and doubles as a junior and as a senior, advancing to the quarterfinals in singles in 2004.
Was named first-team All-ACC three times. He won 100 career singles matches at UNC, at the time the second most in Tar Heel history.
Led UNC team to the ACC tournament title as a sophomore in 2002 and the ACC regular season championship as a senior in 2004. Carolina earned NCAA Tournament bids for four straight years, 2001-04. Monroe won the ITA Mideast Region Arthur Ashe Sportsmanship Award in 2003.
Won a bronze medal in doubles for the United States at the 2011 Pan American Games.
Played professionally until 2022, winning four ATP doubles titles. Reached the quarterfinals in doubles in two Grand Slam events, the 2017 U.S. Open and the 2020 French Open.
