UNC Volleyball Sets All-Time Winning Streak Of 15 With Sweep Of Jacksonville

Jacksonville, Fla. - UNC swept Jacksonville University (15-10, 15-6, 16-14) Saturday in Jacksonville to set the school record for consecutive wins with 15, breaking the mark set by the 1998 team. The Tar Heels are now 17-3 overall and remain undefeated in the ACC at 8-0.
Shannon Smith led the Heels with 17 kills on 24 attempts with only three errors for a .583 hitting percentage. Smith also recorded eight blocks, five of which were solos. Fellow middle hitter Tori Seibert also had a strong match with ten kills on 25 attempts with only one error for a .360 hitting percentage. Melissa Higgins led Carolina in digs with ten and Eve Rackham recorded 36 assists.
As a team, UNC hit .250 and used strong defense to hold Jacksonville to .084. Carrie Arago led Dolphins with nine kills along with Brooke Ahrens who had eight and a .333 hitting percentage. Kelly Hickham led in digs with 12. The Tar Heels will next return home to Carmichael Auditorium for a rematch with #15 Clemson on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
