Men's Tennis Continues Fall Competition In South Carolina Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C.-The men's tennis team continues its challenging fall season this weekend in the University of South Carolina Fall Invitational. The competition includes 47 schools from across the Southeast.
In singles action, junior Chad Riley lost to Juan Yanuzzi of East Tennessee State, 2-6, 7-5, 6-0, on Friday in A-1 singles competition. In consolation play on Saturday, Riley defeated Donny Thornsen of Presbyterian College, 6-1, 6-2. He was set to face Justin Kaufmann of Wake Forest University on Saturday.
In B-1 singles action, senior Aron Breziner defeated Elon's Peter Van Gaaferland, 6-1, 6-1. He then lost a close match to Marlos Asse of Florida. Breziner lost a first-set tiebreaker, rallied to win the second set, but lost another tiebreaker in the third set (7-6 [4], 4-6, 7-6 [4]). Breziner had a bye in he first consolation round and lost another close match to Anders Odeng of Vanderbilt in the second round, 6-7, 6-1, 7-6.
Also in B-1 singles, freshman Tyne Brownlowe lost in the first round to Tennessee's Matt Turner, 7-5, 6-2. He defeated Kyle Bailey of American in the first consolation round, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. He was slated to play Georgia Tech's Fabio Campas on Saturday. Also in B-1 singles, freshman Max Hilkey lost to Laith Al-Agba of Purdue.
In B-1 doubles action, Breziner and Hilkey lost to a duo from the University of Florida, 8-2. Brownlowe and Riley were to play Georgia Tech's Campos and Travis Iams.
