Volleyball Takes Down Georgia Tech For 11th Straight Victory

Atlanta, Ga. - UNC won its 11th consecutive match Tuesday, as it defeated Georgia Tech 3-1 (15-9, 13-15, 15-9, 15-4) in Atlanta. The win improved the Tar Heels record to 13-3, 5-0 in the ACC.
Carolina outside hitter Casey Simpson led the Heels with 18 kills and 13 digs. Senior Tori Seibert, once again, had a strong hitting performance as she put away 11 kills with only two errors on 25 attempts for a .360 percentage. ACC Rookie of the Week Eve Rackham tallied 53 assists for a 13.25 per game average. Shannon Smith, Laura Greene and Asa Gustavsson added 14, 10 and 9 kills respectively.
The teams split the first two games of the match and then the Tar Heels took control during the third game and capitalized on a series of Yellow Jackets' errors to win the final game handily.
Maja Pachale led the Jackets with 20 kills and 14 digs, while Kyleen Bell also recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 16 digs. Georgia Tech falls to 12-5 overall, 2-2 in the ACC and will next face N.C. State on Friday in Atlanta.
North Carolina will now travel to Clemson to take on the 13th-ranked Tigers who have yet to lose a match this season at 15-0, 4-0 in the ACC. The teams will face off Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
