CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- North Carolina's women's golf coach Sally Austin announced Thursday the signing of Ashley Prange to a letter of intent in the early signing period which concluded Wednesday. Prange, a native of Noblesville, Ind., attended Hamilton County High School and was the Player of the Year there in 1998-99.
"We're very excited that Ashley is going to be a Tar Heel," says Austin. She is very talented and motivated, both in the classroom and on the golf course. I expect her to do great things here."
Prange, currently ranked 23rd in Golfweek's Titleist Girls' Rankings, is a three-time USGA Girls' Junior Sectional Medalist Qualifier (1997-99). She posted three top ten finishes in AJGA events in 1999 and was named to the Indiana High School All-State Team in 1997, '98 and '99. Prange was the 1998 Indiana IGA-PGA Junior Player of the Year and was the '98 Indiana Stroke Play Junior Champion.
