Friday's action: Florida St. (41-10, 17-2) clinched its second straight ACC regular season title with a 9-3 win over Maryland (21-24, 6-12) at Shipley Field in College Park, Md. Jon McDonald (8-2) gave up three runs on seven hits with five strike outs in 5.2 inings to get the win. The Terp's Tom Curtiss (2-5) suffered the loss by giving up seven runs on eight hits while striking out ten in 6.2 innings on the mound. Marshall McDougall was 3-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored for FSU. Matt Diaz was 2-4 with two RBI on a pair of singles, while Brett Groves was 2-3 with a triple, one RBI and two runs scored. Eric Beer and Craig Munroe were each 2-4 for Maryland... The Clemson Tiger's (31-18, 10-7) Kurt Bultmann was 4-5 with two home runs, four RBI and three runs scored to lead the Tigers to an easy 14-2 win over Winthrop (32-15) at Tiger Field in Clemson, S.C. Bultmann's second homer of the night, a two-run shot in the fourth, made him the 10th player in ACC history to record 200 career runs scored and 200 career RBI. Bultmann now has 40 career homers, making him one of only five Clemson players with 40 or more career homers. Steve Reba (4-3) pitched six scoreless inning to get the win, while David Steffler (8-2) absorbed the loss for the Eagles. rian Ellis, Justin Singleton and Casey Stone each had two hits for the Tigers
Thursday's action: Winthrop at Clemson was postponed by rain. The game has been rescheduled for Friday at 7:00.
Wednesday's action: Maryland (21-23, 6-11) got three RBI from Matt Swope to post a 4-3 win over Richmond (32-12) at Pitt Field in Richmond, Va. Swope had a two-run homer and an RBI single as the Terps stopped Richmond's seven-game winning streak. Todd Ainsworth (1-4) got the win in relief, while Mike Dwyer (8-4) suffered the loss.
Tuesday's action: Clemson's (30-18, 10-7) Patrick Boyd scored on a wild pitch with two out in the 10th inning to give the Tigers a come-from-behind 11-10 win over Western Carolina (30-17) at Tiger Field in Clemson, S.C. Boyd had reached base on a fielder's choice, then advanced to third on an error and a wild pitch. Erik Turnrose's second wild pitch of the inning then scored Boyd with the winning run. Clemson trailed by four runs going into the bottom of the ninth before rallying to tie the game. Chris Heck (3-0) took the win in relief, with Turnrose (4-2) absorbing the loss. radley LeCroy was 3-5 for the Tigers, while Tracy Biggs was 3-5 for the Catamounts... George Mason (24-20) rolled to a 15-9 win over Virginia (19-33, 8-15) at Spuhler Field in Fairfax, Va. Greg Filson and Trevor Hass both went 4-4 at the plate, with Filson driving in six runs. Shawn Stiffler (2-4) got the win with four innings of relief, while Tim LaVigne (1-3) suffered the loss. Jon Benick, who went 2-5 with 2 RBI, got his 81st hit of the year to set a new UVA record for hits in a season.
Monday's action: No games were scheduled.
