CAROLINA BASEBALL GAME SUSPENDED BECAUSE OF RAIN
Chapel Hill, N.C. ----- North Carolina's home baseball opener on Friday vs. Seton Hall was suspended in the bottom of the fifth inning because of rain. The game will be resumed on Saturday at Noon with the Tar Heels holding a 7-1 lead. Carolina and Seton Hall will play the second of their three-game series on Saturday immediately following the completion of the first game.
Carolina jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run double by Chris LaMarsh and a run-scoring fielders choice by Tyrell Godwin. Dan Moylan and Clay Hooper led off the inning with back-to-back walks setting up LaMarshs' two-bag base hit down the left field line.
Carolina scored another run in the third and pushed three more runs across the plate in the fifth before play was suspended. When play is resumed on Saturday, Carolinas Matt McCay will be on second with one out.
Kyle Snyder pitched five complete innings for the Tar Heels, striking out six and allowing just one run.
