Thursday's Softball Game Cancelled Due to Weather

Thursday's softball game between North Carolina and East Carolina, scheduled to be the Tar Heels' final home game of the season, has been cancelled due to rain. It has yet to be determined whether the doubleheader will be rescheduled. UNC and ECU also played April 21 in Greenville, N.C., where the Tar Heels won both games.
In other North Carolina softball news, the Tar Heels will be the No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament, May 14-16 in Tallahassee, Fla. UNC tied with Virginia at 4-4 in ACC play and the seeding was decided by a blind draw after all tie-breaking procedures were exhausted. The seedings for the tournament are: No. 1 Maryland, No. 2 Florida State, No. 3 North Carolina, No. 4 Virginia and No. 5 Georgia Tech. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds were also decided by a blind draw.
The Tar Heels begin play in the tournament against second-seeded Florida State on May 14 at 3 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for Sunday, May 16 at 3:30. p.m.
