Softball Clubs Five Homers, Run-Rules Stetson, 12-4

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -Â Emily LeGette walked off the 12-4 win over Stetson as Carolina stays perfect in mid-week games and improves to 18-1 on the season. LeGette's home run was the fifth of the game, tying the most home runs in a game this season with five.

In 19 games, Carolina has walked off five games and run-ruled nine games. Emily LeGette has hit four of the walk-offs.

How did it happen:
Shelby Barbee took the lead back from Stetson in the bottom of the first inning with a two-run shot to left field, extending the home run streak to 18 games.
Â
The Hatters tied the ball game in the next inning, 2-2. Carolina responded with two singles as Reagan Jennings and Nicole Knox set the table for Sanaa Thompson, as she roped a home run to add three more runs, making it 5-2.

MC Eaton blasted a homer over the scoreboard and over the trees in left field to make it a 6-4 ball game.
Â
Barbee padded the lead with a sacrifice fly in the fifth, which grew the lead to three, 7-4.

Eaton had her first career multi-home run game as she hit her second home run of the game in the fifth inning, adding to the lead to five, 9-4

LeGette ended the game early in the sixth inning as she hit her eleventh home run of the season, ballooning the lead to eight. She extended her hit streak to 13 games.

On the pitching side, Kendall stays perfect on the season, improving to 7-0 as she came out of the bullpen and shut down the Hatters, striking out five over 3.1 of scoreless relief.

Carolina takes on No. 16Â Virginia this weekend for the second weekend of Atlantic Coast Conference action.
