Mike Bynum & Jarrett Shearin Are Selected In The Draft

Mike Bynum has been selected by the San Diego Padres as the 49th pick in the Major League Baseball Draft. Bynum, a 6-3, 200 pound lefthanded pitcher from
Middleburg, Fla., compiled a 7-1 record with an ERA of 3.90 during the 1999 season.
ynum struck out 89 hitters in 85.1 innings on the mound. The junior standout has a career
record of 16-10.
Centerfielder
Jarrett Shearin was picked in the 14th round by the Kansas City Royals.
The 6-0, 190 pound defensive whiz from Wake Forest, N.C. hit .308 in 1999 while stealing
26 bases. Shearin threw out nine opposing base runners from his centerfield position.
