Surhoff Chosen To AL All-Star Team

New York -- Baltimore Orioles left fielder B.J. Surhoff, who played at Carolina from 1983-85, has been selected by New York Yankee manager Joe Torre as a reserve for the American League squad for baseball's annual All-Star Game, to be played next Tuesday night at Fenway Park in Boston, Mass. Surhoff joins teammates Cal Ripken and Mike Mussina on the American League squad. Surhoff is hitting .337 with 20 home runs, 69 RBI and 118 base hits through 82 games.
