CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Chris Carrieri has been nominated for national player of the year honors. The Tar Heel junior from Stafford, Va. Leads the nation in scoring (as of Nov. 27) with 2.78 points per game (64 points in 23 games). Second in the nation in the nation with 1.09 goals per game (as of Nov. 27). Named the 2000 ACC Player of the Year, where he leads the conference in nearly every offensive category (as of Nov. 27) -- points (64), goals (25), scoring (2.78 ppg) and goals per game (1.09). The next closest ACC player in points has 43 and the next closest player in goals has 16. Is second in the ACC in assists (14).
