Sesay Finishes Ninth, Davis Takes 12th In Long Jump At NCAA Indoor Championships

Chapel Hill, N.C. - UNC's Ola Sesay finished ninth and DeAnne Davis finished 12th in the long jump in the first day of competition at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. on Friday. Sesay jumped 20-1 3/4, just missing scoring, while Davis jumped 19-7 1/2.
Davis will compete in the triple jump competition tomorrow for the Tar Heels, along with Joy Ganes in the high jump.
Also, prior to the meet, it was announced that the Carolina women finished third in the USTCA indoor power rankings, which looks at the overall team depth, taking into consideration every event. The UNC women have twice finished ranked number one. Carolina's men finished 21st in the poll, a strong position for the young team.
