Georgia Tech Hammers Heels, 16-3

Atlanta, Ga. -- The North Carolina Tar Heels dropped their second consecutive game in Atlanta, Ga. Saturday afternoon, losing 16-3 to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets before a crowd of 1,222 at Russ Chandler Stadium.
Rhett Parrott (3-1), who came on in relief with just one out in the first inning, picked up the win by giving up just two runs in 5.1 innings despite giving up eight hits.
Starting pitcher Eric Henderson (4-1) took the loss, lasting just 3.0 innings and giving up five earned runs on five hits and five walks.
Single runs in each of the first three innings gave UNC an early 3-1 lead before the Yellow Jackets rallied.
Tech scored three in the third on three singles, two walks and an error on Henderson. The Yellow Jackets got six more in the fifth inning. Richard Lewis hit a three-run homer to left, then Bryan Prince belted a two-run homer to left. Jason Basil scored the inning's final run after an error by second baseman Chad Prosser.
Tech totally put the game away with five more runs in the bottom of the seventh. The Yellow Jackets scored their runs on four hits, three walks and two wild pitches.
Chad Prosser was 3-4 at the plate for UNC, while Adam Greenberg and Tyrell Godwin had two hits apiece.
Prince was 4-4 with four RBI, while Wes Rynders was 2-4 with three RBI for Tech.
The Tar Heels fall to 21-2 overall, 0-2 in the ACC. Tech is now 14-6, 2-0 in the ACC. The teams play again on Sunday in a 1:00 p.m. ET matchup that will be televised live by Fox Sports South.
