Chapel Hill -- TarHeelBlue.com had a chance to visit with freshman men's soccer player Marcus Storey after Wednesday night's win over Old Dominion.
Storey has scored nine goals and leads Carolina with 23 points this season.
TarHeelBlue: Are you feeling more comfortable as your freshman season progresses?
Marcus Storey: "Yeah, I hit a little slump there for awhile, but I'm feeling it again. The confidence of the team is good as we try to get through the little struggles of a season together. It's been a long run for us lately with four straight road games coming into the ODU game. Everyone's trying to get the kinks out a little bit, and I'm trying to be calm out there on the field.
THB: On his backflip after scoring Carolina's second goal against Old Dominion:
MS: "I just was saving it for a home game. I knew I could do it, but I was waiting for the right occasion, a good goal. I was trying to get the team a little pumped up, I guess."
THB: How does your speed help dictate the way you play?
MS: "That's what the team needs me to do, use my speed and run through the seams and get a goal if I can. This team has a lot of speed and I try to do my part. We're getting more comfortable with each other as an offense. I try to do what I can."
THB: What are the differences between high school and college soccer:
MS: "College is a little more physical, a little faster. You've got to know the game and be smarter because all the players are better at the college level. I'm try to learn the game every day because you can't get by on skill alone in college.
