Men's Soccer Drops to No. 8 in NSCAA Poll

CHAPEL HILL -- The University of North Carolina men's soccer team dropped two spots in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll, falling from No. 6 to No. 8 after going 1-1 in two games last week.
Last week, Carolina shutout Old Dominion, 2-0, last Wednesday and lost a 4-2 decision at No. 21 Wake Forest last Saturday night.
Southern Methodist is ranked No. 1, as it has been all season. Virginia is No. 2, Stanford is No. 3, Indiana is No. 4 and Saint Louis is No. 5. Clemson is sixth, St. John's is seventh, Carolina is eighth, Connecticut is ninth and Rutgers is 10th.
Prior to losing at Wake Forest, Carolina had won nine consecutive games. The Tar Heels are 13-3 overall this season, 3-2 in the ACC. Clemson is 12-3, 2-1 ACC.
Carolina has won its last three games against Clemson after previously losing seven straight to the Tigers.
