Greensboro, N.C. -- North Carolina goalkeeper Michael Ueltschey earns this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week honor after leading the Tar Heels to a 1-0 conference win over No. 5 Clemson.
Ueltschey, a senior from Jackson, Mass., became UNC's all-time leader in shutouts after allowing no goals and recording five saves against the Tigers. Ueltschey currently has 25.1 shutouts in his career.
Ueltschey is the third Tar Heel to be named ACC Player of the Week this season, joining Logan Pause (Oct. 1) and Ryan Kneipper (Oct. 22).
Carolina will play its final regular-season game of the 2001 season on Friday night when it hosts South Carolina at 7 p.m. at Fetzer Field. The game will mark the final home appearance for UNC seniors Ueltschey, Danny Jackson, Chris Leitch, Ryan Schumacher and Noz Yamauchi.
