
Women's Tennis Upsets #16 Northwestern

EVANSTON, ILL. - In a battle of unbeatens, it was #16 Northwestern who fell to No. 28 North Carolina, 4-3. The 'Cats entertained the Tar Heels (4-0, 0-0 ACC) Saturday afternoon at the Johnson Tennis Center. Northwestern falls to 4-1 on the season.
UNC opened the match strong, taking the doubles point with wins at Nos. 2 and 3. NU's Colleen Cheng and Jessica Rush defeated UNC's Lee Bairos and Marlene Mejia at No. 1, 8-6.
In singles, the Tar Heels won three of the six matches including three set wins by Kate Pinchbeck and Lee Bairos which secured the one point win for Carolina.
