Ronald Curry on the huddle when the Stanford score was announced...
"Coach heard it and told everybody to pay attention to the game. When they announced it everybody looked up, but he wanted to keep us focused. Everybody just went out on the floor to take care of business."
Curry on the play of Julius Peppers...
"He is supposed to come in and do exactly what he did. If teams are going to play him exactly as they've been playing him, then he'll get more comfortable in the offense. Some nights he's going to give us big numbers and some nights he's going to play great on the defensive end and get rebounds. He can do it all."
Brendan Haywood on the difficulty of playing this game...
"It's a very tough game. Not even 48 hours ago we just played Duke. We beat them at Cameron [Indoor Stadium] and now we played a very good Georgia Tech team that was hungry. It took a lot of mental focus, but this team is very mature and we handle it quite well. Definitely we avoided the letdown tonight. We didn't want to be celebrating the Duke victory too long and let a good Georgia Tech team knock us off at home. Home wins are something you have to get in the ACC, and I'm glad we're able to keep the home court advantage tonight."
Haywood on Carolina's first half run...
"We had a big run in the first half that they never recovered from, like a point buffer that we had the whole game. We couldn't push it out, but luckily we were able to save it."
Haywood on Carolina's winning streak...
"We really do have it going right now. We're not focusing on the winning streak or anything else. We're just focusing on one opponent at a time, and our next opponent is Wake [Forest]."
Joseph Forte on the team's play against Georgia Tech...
"We kept our composure and tried to stay focused on the task at hand and face Georgia Tech and leave Duke behind us. It was really hard. We wanted to celebrate and we wanted to get excited, but today it means nothing what you did Thursday."
Forte on his play in the first half...
"It was [a tough game to play]. The team came in, the guys were tired--mentally tired, not physically tired--but we had to fight those things to win. I think they came out, they were fired up, but then we took right back on them. I think we kind of cancelled their confidence against us."
Forte on playing Wake Forest next...
"They have good players, they are a good team, so they are going to come in with the same chip on their shoulder that I guess we had last year."
