North Carolina moved to 7-0 this season in one-run games and 16-7 overall with a 7-6, 10-inning defeat of the Towson Tigers on Wednesday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. This also marks the fourth game the Tar Heels have won this season by the 7-6 margin. Towson falls to 9-3 with the loss.
Ryan Blake singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as he drove in Jeremy Cleveland who started the 2 out rally with a double. Whitley Benson pitched the final 4.1 innings in hitless fashion to pick up the win and move to 3-0 on the year.
NOTE
We apologize for the live updates being unavailable during the later innings of the game. A construction accident on the UNC campus left Boshamer Stadium without internet access. Live stats will however be available during game two barring further technical difficulty.
