Women's Lacrosse To Host Youth Clinic on Saturday

Chapel Hill, N.C. -- On Saturday afternoon, the University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team will host Atlantic Coast Conference rival Virginia at Henry Stadium at 1 p.m. The Tar Heels (3-3, 0-2 ACC) are ranked No. 8 in the nation in this weeks' IWLCA poll. The Cavaliers (3-3, 0-1 ACC) are ranked No. 9.
Following the game, head coach Jenny Slingluff-Levy and the Tar Heel squad will conduct their first of two clinics for the 2001 season. Admission is free. Saturday's clinic will be a fine opportunity to watch two of the nation's best women's lacrosse teams and receive free instruction from the best players and coaches in the country.
The clinic is open to youths from elementary school through high school. Anyone who is interested in learning about the fundamentals of women's lacrosse is encouraged to attend the game and remain for the clinic. The clinic will last approximately 30 minutes and will consist of various lacrosse drills, games and competitions. There will be giveaways to all participants from the Great Atlantic Lacrosse Company and Brine.
The second and final clinic of the season will be held on April 7th following Carolina's game with Georgetown at Fetzer Field at 1 p.m.
