Havrilla Earns ACC Women's Lacrosse Honor

Greensboro, N.C. -- Duke junior Kristen Foster and North Carolina senior Amy Havrilla have earned the ACC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week honors. Foster led the Blue Devils to two wins over ranked opponents and Havrilla led the Tar Heels to a win over ACC foe Virginia.
Havrilla, a midfielder from Devan, Pa., scored five goals and also contributed one assist in a win over No. 9 Virginia. Havrilla's goals proved to be crucial as the Tar Heels won by just three goals, 15-12. The win secured third place in regular-season standings for North Carolina.
Foster, a goalkeeper from Ellicott City, Md., played in all 180 minutes of action for Duke this week. In a 7-10 loss to No. 4 Princeton, Foster tallied 14 saves. She held No. 2 Georgetown to just 7 goals and made 12 saves as the No. 5 Blue Devils won 8-7. Against No. 17 Johns Hopkins, Foster made 14 saves in a 10-5 win. For the week, Foster allowed 22 goals and made 40 saves.
The Tar Heels return to action on Tuesday afternoon against Virginia Tech at 5 p.m. at Fetzer Field.
