CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - In what should prove to be a very competitive matchup, the 48th-ranked North Carolina men's tennis team will play host to the #51 Florida State Seminoles on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
Coach Sam Paul's team will be looking to extend its winning streak to four matches against the Seminoles. The Tar Heels are currently 7-5 overall and 3-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Most recently the Tar Heels defeated NC State for the 14th successive time as Carolina recorded a 4-3 win in Raleigh on Wednesday.
Florida State is 9-8 overall and 4-1 in the ACC. The Seminoles have ACC wins over NC State, Clemson, Virginia and Maryland. Their only conference loss so far came to Wake Forest. The Seminoles have won their past three matches against Maryland, Clemson and Brown.
Carolina has an all-time record of 19-5 against the Seminoles. The match will mark the penultimate home appearances for Tar Heel seniors David Cheatwood, Chad Riley and Aron Breziner.
