Scott Senatore and Wes Moyer, two rising sophomore baseball players at the University of North Carolina, have been named Coastal Plain League All-Stars. The CPL's annual all-star game is Wednesday evening at historic Hicks Field in Edenton, N.C.
Senatore was named to the Southern Division all-star team after going 3-1 with a 2.16 ERA in six starts thus far for the Wilmington Sharks. The left-hander from Wilmington has pitched three complete games. As a freshman at Carolina last spring Senatore was 2-1 in 18 appearances.
Moyer, a native of Apex, N.C., is hitting .310 with two home runs and eight RBIs for the Outer Banks Daredevils of the league's Northern Division. Moyer, who played in just 12 games in his freshman season at UNC, ranks fifth in the CPL with a .476 slugging percentage
The CPL is a wooden bat summer baseball league with teams in North and South Carolina and Virginia.
