Tar Heels Open Strong in Furman

The Tar Heels women's tennis team opened today's action in the Furman Fall Classic in strong fashion, winning five singles matches and two doubles matches.
Julie Rotondi beat Megan Dunigan of Furman 0-6, 6-2, 6-4 in flight one, Aniela Mojzis swept Toni Neykova of Iowa in flight two 6-2, 6-0, Kristin Koenig squeaked by Deni Alexandrova of Iowa in flight three, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5, Leigh Bairos swept Kori Scott of Vanderbilt in flight four, 6-1, 6-4, and Kendall Cline beat Alise Cogger of Wisconsin in flight six, 6-3, 6-1.
Two Tar Heels lost their matches today as Caroline Hill lost to Jodi Kenoyer of South Carolina in flight five, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 and Kate Pinchbeck lost to Cassie Haas of Iowa, 6-3, 6-4.
In doubles action, Hill and Pinchbeck beat Lynn-Yin Tan and Jodi Kenoyer of South Carolina in flight two, 8-5 and Bairos and Cline won Carien Venter and Tanja Buchheim of Middle Tennessee State, 8-1.
Rotondi and Mojzis lost to Kate Burson and Audra Faulk of Vanderbilt in flight one, 8-2
