Tar Heels Wrestlers Win Two Saturday

The UNC wrestling team defeated Ohio University 21 -17 and Cumberland College 32-18 Saturday afternoon in Carmichael Auditorium. The Tar Heels (6-2, 1-0 ACC) won six of ten matches against Ohio and seven of ten matches against Cumberland.
Chris Rodrigues won both his matches by pin fall, defeating Ohio's Mike Caruso at the 2:07 mark and Cumberland's Wyatt Wilke at 1:55 mark in his second contest.
UNC's Matt Kenny swept the heavyweight division with a 16 -5 major decision over Ohio's Jeremiah Beltran and pin fall at the 2:08 mark against Cumberland's Renwick Richardson.
"It was two good wins for our team," said UNC coach Bill Lam. "Wrestling Cumberland right after Ohio took some wind out of the victory, but we wanted to look at some other people. It made for a long afternoon, but I am pleased with the two wins."
