Head Coach Matt Doherty
"First of all, I have to compliment Duke, they have a great team and they play great defense. They get a lot of steals and that really hurt us."
"We did some good things, but you can not have 14 turnovers in the first half --- that really is a credit to Duke. They had 22 points off turnovers to our two, and 21 more shots than us. Again, that is a credit to their pressure defense."
"The toughest thing now is we have to move on. We have a quick turnaround, it is a tough schedule and we have a game at one o'clock on Saturday. We really have to put this game behind us and move on as quickly as possible."
"It was a great college basketball environment, we just did not play as good as we would have liked. Again, a lot of that credit goes to Duke."
"I thought Brian [Morrison] really played well. Brian has the legs that can beat people off the dribble. We were trying to spread the floor and drive it. Brian did a good job of penetrating, I thought he made some pretty good decisions for the most part."
Freshman forward Jawad Williams on Duke...
"I think they are the best team we've played against so far. They are well-balanced inside and out, and they have a lot of players who can create for themselves. It makes them even tougher to stop."
Williams on Carolina's play...
"We have a lot of things to work on. We keep beating ourselves, we killed ourselves in the first half with 14 turnovers. We have to learn to take care of the ball."
Williams on preparing for the next game...
"We lost to a great team. Now we have to get ready for Georgia Tech Saturday. We can't dwell on this loss. If we do, we'll go in there and get beat, too. We just have to get ready to play against Georgia Tech. I have no doubt in my mind that everybody will bounce back. It starts tomorrow with a great practice and we'll go from there."
Senior forward Kris Lang on the game...
"It was actually a very surprising first half considering we had fourteen turnovers and we weren't down any more than what we were. The second half they were hitting outside shots and it just broke down our defense from there. They are a great team and they are a smart team, and they just utilized that."
Lang on Saturday's game against Georgia Tech...
"Georgia Tech is a good team. They just spanked Florida State so they have some confidence right now. It's just a big turnaround for us... It's a test for us and our character."
