Harvard Tops Men's Tennis 4-2 at Blue-Gray Classic

Montgomery, Ala. - Harvard defeated North Carolina 4-2 in the opening round of the Blue-Gray Collegiate Classic Thursday evening. Harvard improved to 6-1 and will face fourth seeded Indiana State in Friday's quarterfinals. Carolina (7-3) will face William & Mary in the consolation bracket Friday morning.
UNC sophomore Andy Metzler improved his singles record to 18-5 with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over the Crimson's William Lee. Lee is ranked 83rd Omni Hotels/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings. Junior Trystan Meniane won his 10th straight singles match by a 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 score over Jonathan Chu.
Carolina's number one doubles team of Nick Monroe and Geoff Boyd also recorded an impressive victory over 26th ranked Jonathan Chu and Oliver Choo.
