Women's Tennis Defeats Struggling Seminoles, 6-1

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The 7th-ranked University of North Carolina women's tennis team defeated the 50th ranked Florida State University Seminoles 6-1 in ACC action today. The Tar Heels are currently 14-3 overall and 3-0 in ACC play and extend their win streak to seven matches.
In doubles competition the Tar Heels won two of three matches, while in singles action UNC took five of six matches including All-America Marlene Mejia's victory over Florida State's Anca Dumitrescu, 6-4, 6-3.
The UNC women's tennis team will next be action on April 2 for a home contest at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center against the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame followed by an April 3 home match against ACC foe Wake Forest.
