James Madison Quotes:
Head Coach Spanky McFarland: "It was anybody's ballgame until they put that four-spot up in the seventh. Our pitching kept us in the game. They did good job on defense and worked out of some jams. We were in the position several times to hit some runs and we just didn't do it. We didn't get the job done with the bats."
Starting Pitcher Jared Doyle: "In the seventh my pitch count was getting pretty high and it was a hot day. I don't want to make excuses; they hit the ball when they needed to and they had runners on all the time. I just couldn't work out of the jams when I needed to."
UNC Quotes:
Head Coach Mike Fox: "We're very happy to have won. Scott (Autrey) was outstanding today. This is one of his best outings if not the best of the year. I thought JMU was outstanding as well, they just couldn't seem to do much with Scott on the mound. You never know what to expect in this game. The biggest interest for us was just to keep our strikes down."
Starting Pitcher Scott Autrey: "I got a lot of first batters out and one of the main keys was not to face extra batters. I felt strong all the way through the game."
