*National Player of the Year in 1990 and 1991.
*Recipient of the Patterson Medal in 1993, given to the Most Outstanding Senior Athlete at the University of North Carolina.
*Member of United States National Team which won the Gold Medal at the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games in Athens, Ga.
*Helped lead the United States to the championship of the 1999 World Cup. Scored two goals and had one assist during the World Cup. Also saved a game-winning goal attempt in overtime of the U.S. championship game victory over China.
*Named National Player of the Year in 1990 by Soccer America.
*Won the 1991 Hermann Trophy and was also named National Player of the Year by the Missouri Athletic Club, Honda, the Intercollegiate Soccer Association of America and Soccer America.
*Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year in 1991.
*ACC Tournament Most Valuable Player in 1990.
*Named National Freshman of the Year by Soccer America in 1989.
*Named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player in the 1989 and 1990 NCAA Tournaments.
*Is the third-leading scorer in ACC history with 197 points.
*Also is second in league history in goals with 78 and is eighth in assists with 41.
*Scored 10 goals and had seven assists for 27 points in nine career NCAA Tournament matches.
*Was second in the nation in scoring in 1990 with 20 goals and 12 assists for 52 points.
*Led the Tar Heels to national championships in 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992.
*In her four years, Carolina had a record of 93-1-2.
*Started at midfield for the United States in the 1991 and 1995 World Championships.
*Has played in more international matches in history than any other member of Team USA-men or women; that total was 228 matches through 2001.
*Tied for the U.S. team lead in scoring at the 1995 World Championships.
*Selected the U.S. Soccer Federation's Player of the Year in 1993.
*Jersey number 15 was retired by the University of North Carolina.
*Received her degree from Carolina in Radio, Television & Motion Pictures.
*Has scored 84 career goals as member of U.S. Women's Senior National Team. Is the third leading goal scorer in National Team history. Is also third in National Team history in points with 232.
