*Co-Captain of the 1999 United States World Cup Team which captured the gold medal. Co-Captained that team with Stanford's Julie Foudy.
*Was a member of the United States National Team from 1988 to 2000. Is the sixth most-capped player in the history of the U.S. National Team, having appeared in 168 games. Has scored seven goals in her National Team career.
*Played in and started 22 games for the 1999 United States National Team, playing 1,764 minutes as she led the United States to the World Cup championship.
*Converted on the first penalty kick in the United States' victory over China in the 1999 World Cup championship game.
*Played on four University of North Carolina women's soccer teams from 1986-89 that won four successive NCAA championships. Carolina did not lose a single game during her four-year tenure at UNC.
*Was named by National Soccer Coaches Association of America as a first-team All-America in both 1987 and 1988 and as a second-team All-America in 1989.
*Earned first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference accolades as a junior in 1988 and as a senior in 1989.
*Played on four North Carolina teams that posted a cumulative record of 89-0-6 from 1986 through 1989. Teams she played on at UNC were a spotless 12-0 in NCAA Tournament play.
*Was named the Most Valuable Defensive Player of the 1988 NCAA Final Four as the Tar Heels defeated arch-rival NC State 4-1 in the championship game.
*Enters her 11th year as an assistant coach at Duke University in 2002.
*Four-time member of the NCAA All-Tournament team as a Tar Heel defender.
*1986 Freshman All-America as named by Soccer America magazine.
*Was also a member of the 1991 U.S. National Team which won the World Cup title in China. Was the captain of the 1995 U.S. World Cup squad which advanced to the semifinals.
*Was the captain of the United States National team which won the gold medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Athens, Ga.
*Competed on the 1998 United States Team which won the gold medal at the Goodwill Games in New York, N.Y.
*Graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in pyschology.
*A native of Dallas, Texas, she attended Richardson High School.
*Married to Greg Overbeck, who co-owns and manages several restaurants in the Triangle area, including Squid's, 411 West and Spanky's in Chapel Hill. The Overbecks have a three-year-old son, Jackson. They live in Carrboro, N.C.
