GREENSBORO, N.C. - Daniel Pinchbeck of North Carolina has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week as swept all four of the matches he played this weekend as the No. 26 Tar Heels opened their season with wins over Princeton (4-3) and No. 20 Georgia (5-2). The Edmondson Park, New South Wales, Australia native, clinched the match against Princeton with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win over Darius Craton, despite not practicing for two weeks prior to the match due to elbow problems and a stress fracture.
He picked up another victory over No. 35 Nicolas Boeker of Georgia 7-5, 4-6, 6-3. The sophomore paired with Andy Metzler at the No. 3 doubles match in both outings, helping the Tar Heels win the doubles point in both matches.
The Tar Heels are now 2-0 on the season and return to action when they host UT-Chattanooga on February 7.
