Round Three of the Lady Gamecock Classic Canceled, Tar Heels Finish 15th

LYTHEWOOD, S.C. -? The final two rounds of the Lady Gamecock Classic were canceled due to inclement weather. The scores from the first round of play were used as the final scores of the tournament leaving Carolina in 15th place.
The Tar Heels finished in last place with a final team score of 322, 34-over-par, and 26 strokes behind the first-place Wake Forest team. The highest individual finish came from junior Ashley Prange who tied for 21st with a final score of 76.
University of South Carolina's Kacy Thompson was crowned the individual winner after a scorecard playoff. Thompson had been tied with Duke's Leigh AnneHardin and New Mexico State's Alena Sharp with an even-par 72.
Other Tar Heel finishes include: junior Meaghan Francella tied for 30th at 6-over 78; senior Meghan Adams tied for 65th at 11-over 83; freshman Beth Marushak tied for 70th at 13-over 85; and senior Abby Spector in 76th place at 15-over 87. Junior Stacy Hilton also played as an unattached individual and is in 80th place after carding a 20-over 92.
The 54-hole tournament is being played at The University Club, home to the South Carolina Gamecocks. The course is a 5,996-yard par 72.
