UNC Men's Tennis Continues Winning Streak With Win Over Villanova

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The North Carolina men's tennis team recorded its fourth straight shutout win of the 2004 campaign as the Tar Heels defeated Villanova 7-0 Saturday evening at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. UNC improved to 4-0 on the season while the Wildcats dropped their first match of the season and are now 4-1.
Earlier Saturday UNC had beaten Campbell 7-0 after recording 7-0 wins over both Davidson and James Madison last Saturday.
Carolina claimed all six singles matches against the Wildcats in straight sets after sweeping the three doubles matches. UNC senior Andy Metzler has won eight straight singles matches for the Tar Heels.
UNC will host Charlotte Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in the Tar Heels' next match.
