Tar Heels Host Final Home Match Wednesday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina men's tennis team, ranked No. 18 nationally in the latest ratings, will play its final home match of the 2004 season Wednesday when the Tar Heels host 42nd-ranked Wake Forest at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. Match time is 4 p.m. The match will be the final home match in the careers of decorated Tar Heel senior captains Nick Monroe, Andy Metzler and Ben Aiken.
Wednesday also marks "CAA Sports Marketing Carolina Tennis Blue Blitz Day", the creation of CAA Sports Marketing, UNC Sports Marketing and Carolina Tennis to promote student and community interest and support for the Carolina Tennis Teams. There will be raffles and contests for free prizes courtesy of UNC Sports Marketing and UNC Tennis. The CAA Sports Marketing staff will be serving free Domino's Pizza at the match.
This will also be the last home match for Carolina seniors, Ben Aiken, Andy Metzler and Nick Monroe. Aiken, Metzler and Monroe won the 2002 ACC Championship and have led the Tar Heels to their most successful start (18-2) in 26 years in 2004. Carolina will honor the three seniors on center court at 3:45 pm. The match will start at 4 pm with doubles. Singles will begin at approximately 5:15 p.m.

UNC enters the match with an overall record of 18-2 and an Atlantic Coast Conference record of 5-0.
Carolina begins a three-match road swing Saturday when the Tar Heels play at 12th-ranked Virginia beginning at 1 p.m.
