The University of North Carolina men's tennis team will begin its Atlantic Coast Conference road schedule for 2026 this weekend with a pair of matches.
On Thursday, the Tar Heels will meet Boston College in a neutral-site match to be played at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex in Charlotte at 1 p.m. On Sunday, Carolina will visit SMU at 1 p.m. ET in Dallas.
UNC, ranked No. 57 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association team rankings, opened ACC play last weekend at home at the Chewning Tennis Center in Chapel Hill, upsetting No. 12 Stanford, 4-2 on Friday before dropping a 4-2 decision on Sunday to No. 48 California.
The Tar Heels boast a trio of ranked singles players, led by #42 Roan Jones, a senior from Shrewsbury, England. Also ranked are freshman Ian Mayew (#82) and junior Niels Ratiu (#96).
Ratiu and sophomore Chris Xu form the #34-ranked doubles team in the latest ITA rankings, while graduate student Logan Zapp and Jones are ranked #31.
Following this weekend's matches, Carolina will be on the road again next weekend but closer to home with matches at Virginia Tech (Friday March 13) and Virginia (Sunday March 15). The Tar Heels will return home for a four-match homestand against Clemson, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and NC State beginning on Friday March 20.
