North Carolina Falls to UMass and Notre Dame on Day Two of FAU Worth Invitational

Boca Raton, Fla. - The North Carolina softball team dropped both its games on day two of the FAU Worth Invitational on the campus of Florida Atlantic. UNC lost 4-3 in game one versus UMass and fell 2-0 in game two against Notre Dame. The Tar Heels try to rebound on Monday as they travel to St. Augustine, Fla. to take on Evansville at 5 p.m. in the Spring Fling Tournament.
In game one versus UMass, Carolina struck first and put two runs on the board in the top of the first inning. Senior Dionne Streete and freshman Anna Evans hit back-to-back singles to open up the inning and three batters later with two outs senior Jessica Robinson hit a two-run double scoring Streete and Evans. UMass got a run back in the bottom of the inning to cut the score to 2-1. UNC added another run in the top of the seventh to make it 3-1, but UMass' Kelly Jo Kelley hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to win the game for the minutewomen.
In game two, UNC failed to get a run on the board as Notre Dame won 2-0. Alison Yin pitched seven innings allowing no earned runs and just five hits.
