Price, Streete named to All-ACC First Team

Tallahassee, Fla. - UNC seniors Emily Price and Dionne Streete were named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference first team on Thursday at the annual ACC Banquet in Tallahassee, Fla. Price, a shortstop from Decatur, Ill., was named after leading the ACC in home runs, batting average, hits, total bases and slugging percentage. Streete, a first baseman from Pembroke Pines, Fla. led the ACC in doubles and was in the top ten in six different hitting categories. In addition to the ACC announcements, Jessica Graziano was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America team on Thursday.
Graziano, a senior from Pearl River, N.Y., was one of ten athletes selected from the district III region. Graziano recently graduated with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. She hit .270 with 17 RBI's on the season starting from the designated player position.
Price tied the Carolina single-season home record with 15. She was named to the Triangle Classic All-Tournament team and also hit three game-winning home runs this year. Against East Carolina, Price hit the game-winning home run in game one, and then hit home runs in her first two at-bats in game two to become the first player in UNC history to hit home runs in three consecutive at-bats.
Streete led the ACC in doubles this season with 19 and hit four game-winning home runs, including two seventh inning, walk-off blasts. Streete started every single game this season and had 17 multi-hit games.
The Tar Heels start ACC Tournament play on Friday at 7:30 p.m. as they face the winner of the Virginia/Maryland game.
