UNC's Marshall Hubbard Named Academic All-District

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina junior right fielder Marshall Hubbard was named to the 2004 CoSIDA Academic All-District III University Division Baseball Second Team, which was announced May 13. The Tar Heels' leader in home runs, runs batted in and batting average, Hubbard also sports a 3.23 grade point average in management and society.
Hubbard was one of just three Atlantic Coast Conference players named to the two 11-member teams. Georgia Tech's Steven Blackwood earned first team honors, while Hubbard and Wake Forest's Ben Ingold were named to the second team. The teams were selected based on voting by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
On the season, Hubbard is batting .353 with 15 home runs and an ACC-best 67 RBI.
